  1. Re: thesarvo iPhone App Now Available

H Jon- Nice work on the iPhone app.  I did a map centric climbing app for Arizona called "Rock N Road Arizona" for the iPhone.   I didn't see how to access nearby climbing areas using the GPS-you mentioned that as a feature-how does it work? cheers Migrated to Confluence 4.0

cleaning efforts for lead ascent but Simon readily found the evidence of our gear placements on his second ascent as our cleaning of rock around a particular placement … be discussed. Equally it would be very annoying for sport climbers if trad.ers claimed rights over wildly blank sections of rock just because they top-roped

  3. Dolomites Trip Report from Tony

blocks, the “death on a stick” traverse led us over the steeply sloping shards of razor-sharp rock to a belay out on the wall.  Retreat was probably not going … jamming, I indeed “popped out” onto the plateau, like a meerkat blinking in the evening sunlight.  A rock from the edge skittered down, missing Tom but leaving

Great, easy access, moderate trad./mixed in a classic location. A busy time by the look of it , 35 climbs in a very short period. Surprising what has been hidden so close to civilisation. Re ‘time-bombs and loose rock removed,’ we had a football-sized boulder off the top of Fortescue Bay crag once, missing the belayer

I didn't hear about it but quite likely. I had a trip or two to the ridge area with the TUMC (pre Utas Rock Climbing Club formation) which was the main focus when viewed from the road. The Needles were not visited much though. In those days, apart from the Pipes there was Rocky Tom, Richmond, Clifton and Lowdina

Thanks Phil. It is hard to conceive  that they had not been climbed before given its not an epic hike to get there and the routes aren't epic either  although i'm guessing the scrub before the fires was a bit of a barrier. yes anyone should watch out for loose rock although it seemed more of a holds may break more
